BigCommerce’s Campaign Specialist delivers a visible impact on revenue and serves as a liaison between segment leaders/reporters and the email campaigns team. To be successful, this individual must be flexible, with good communication and influence skills, and provide superior recommendations and support through process, technology, data, and reporting, particularly related to the supplied email automation tool and SFDC.    

What You’ll Do

  • Develop email marketing communication on behalf of reporters, influencing campaigns with knowledge of industry best practices and metrics to set expectations of desired results, such as:
    • Provide a campaign strategy that aligns with team SLAs, Marketo’s functionality and meets or exceeds the reporters objective.
    • Optimize each email campaign process as necessary and execute for maximum conversions while meeting branding, design, and testing guidelines
    • Document and track initiatives using Jira keeping interested parties involved to deliver in timely manager as outlined in team SLAs
    • Manage multiple campaigns and touch points at varying stages in the campaign process; ability to take the lead, but also able to work in a team environment
  • Communicate, collaborate, and/or deliver ideas clearly to your manager and teams, such as:
    • Track initiatives using Jira and use as repository for all documentation
    • Provide clear documentation to aid in copy creation, strategic campaigns, product launches, and partner initiatives
    • Leverage resources, set expectations and delegate Jiras to appropriate marketer as needed to complete the project
    • Set tentative completion dates and identify dependencies
    • Ensure all ideas meet big picture, provide efficiency, and simplify processes if possible
  • Assist with development, design, build, and testing of marketing campaigns using Marketo, such as:
    • Implement email, events, forms, dynamic content, tokens with Marketo programs
    • Understanding of targeting and segmentation
    • Use testing tools to ensure maximum deliverability and inbox placement
  • Optimize campaign processes and identifying improvements to meet specific strategic and ROI objectives of marketing programs, such as:
    • Optimize current nurtures and think BIG if additional nurture strategies need to be in place
    • Analyze entire marketing/sales cycle and/or lifecycle
    • Understand conversion measurement and trend analysis for campaign effectiveness
    • Provide training when needed, document processes for campaigns team; ensure new capabilities and best practices shared with your manager, segment leaders, and the marketing team as necessary

Who You Are

  • Strong analytical and communication skills (ability to articulate objectives and processes/data needed to support them)
  • Motivated self starter with ability to lead and influence initiatives
  • Intellectual curiosity, responsibility, determination, creativity, flexibility and drive 
  • Proven organizational and time management skills (ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments coupled with strong process orientation)
  • Experience with B2B demand generation, marketing campaigns & email marketing
  • 2+ years experience administering Hubspot, Marketo, or Eloqua or similar marketing automation systems strongly preferred
  • Project management, business process management skills strongly preferred
  • Marketo Power User or Marketo Certified User preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce preferred
  • Strong Excel skills a plus
