Brand Collective selects BigCommerce to power online stores for Australia’s best-loved brands
Leading Aussie brand network to migrate seamlessly onto BigCommerce platform
SYDNEY — February 28, 2018 — Brand Collective, which houses a stable of the most iconic apparel and footwear brands loved and trusted by Australians everywhere, announced today it has chosen to migrate the online stores for its portfolio of brands to BigCommerce. As part of the partnership, in the coming months Brand Collective will relaunch 10 distinct websites on BigCommerce representing its iconic portfolio of household brands including Julius Marlow, Clarks, Elwood, Elka Collective, Hush Puppies, Superdry, Volley and more.
Brand Collective’s stable of household brands are sold through a combination of leading department stores, branded retail sites and company-owned websites. With ecommerce increasingly becoming a key growth channel, Brand Collective chose to partner with BigCommerce to level up online shopping experiences across its stable of websites and better reflect the modern, yet timeless, look and feel of its labels.
“From its seamless migration path and robust APIs to the openness and flexibility of the platform, there are a great number of reasons why BigCommerce was an easy decision for us,” said Patrick Rechsteiner, General Manager for Ecommerce at Brand Collective. “Each of the brands under the Brand Collective umbrella has its own unique style and customer base, so it’s critical that we deliver a cohesive, effective shopping experience for consumers across our entire range.
“We needed a platform with enterprise-grade integrations that would work smarter and more efficiently. BigCommerce stood out from the competition with the ability to deliver on all of this and then some.”
By moving away from its previous open source platform, Brand Collective will future-proof the business and gain the full benefits of BigCommerce’s SaaS platform, including the robust ecosystem built around it. Brand Collective labels will save valuable time and resources as a result of BigCommerce’s ease of use and maintainability, and brand teams will have the flexibility to directly manage websites rather than requiring a dedicated ecommerce administrator.
BigCommerce’s strong local roots and proven success with Aussie merchants also appealed to Brand Collective. The lifestyle company is turning to BigCommerce’s unique understanding of the Australian market and industry-leading ecosystem to help drive efficiencies across its business.
“Brand Collective is so iconic because it continues to innovate and look for opportunities in the marketplace where it can meet and exceed the needs of the Aussie consumer,” said Jordan Sim, Group Product Manager, BigCommerce. “This ethos, combined with the performance gains and time savings provided by the BigCommerce platform, mean Brand Collective will become more effective at growing its ecommerce business.
“BigCommerce is the only true open SaaS platform in the market, providing Brand Collective with everything it needs to power next-gen online shopping experiences, without the technical liability.”
