This app extends the standard TaxCloud integration in BigCommerce to support tax calculation for both the United States and Canada.

By default, TaxCloud integration in BigCommerce is limited to US-based tax calculation. This app enables merchants to use TaxCloud for Canadian tax scenarios, including GST, PST, and HST, while continuing to support US sales tax within the same setup.

The app connects your store to TaxCloud and uses real-time tax calculation during checkout based on the customer’s shipping address. It ensures that orders in both countries are processed with the correct tax rates.

Merchants can configure how tax is applied to shipping, handling, and additional fees using TaxCloud tax codes. The app also supports tax exemption handling for customers with valid exemption codes.

For reporting purposes, the app can submit order data to TaxCloud, allowing merchants to use TaxCloud’s filing and reporting features.

If a shopper is located outside of the configured countries, BigCommerce’s default tax rules will apply.
