Key highlights:

  • The comparison label in single-day views will change from “Yesterday at this time” to “Yesterday at this hour.”

  • Day-over-day comparisons will align at the hour level rather than the minute level.

  • The update applies only to single-day date ranges; longer date ranges remain unchanged.

  • Rollout begins April 6 and will expand to all stores over three days. No action is required.

The Store Performance dashboard helps you keep a pulse on how your business is performing throughout the day. Even small details in how performance is measured can shape how you interpret results.

We’re making a focused update to the comparison metric used in single-day views. The label “Yesterday at this time” will now read “Yesterday at this hour.”

This change refines how day-over-day comparisons are calculated and displayed, while maintaining the visibility you rely on.

We’ll begin rolling out this update the week of April 6. No action is required on your end.

What’s changing and why?

The comparison now aligns at the hour level.

When viewing a single-day date range, the Store Performance dashboard will compare today’s orders and revenue to yesterday’s results at the same hour. Previously, the dashboard aligned results to the same minute.

This update applies only to single-day views. Comparisons across longer date ranges will remain unchanged.

We’ll begin rolling out this update on April 6. The rollout will take place over three days, starting with approximately 10% of stores on day one, expanding to 50% on day two, and reaching all stores by day three.

The update strengthens platform reliability.

The Store Performance dashboard recently migrated to a newer data pipeline built to support greater reliability and scalability.

The previous comparison relied on minute-level database queries. While highly detailed, those queries were resource-intensive and could create performance strain, particularly during peak traffic periods.

With the upcoming shift to hour-level aggregation, the dashboard will reduce that strain while preserving meaningful, near real-time insight. This approach builds on the improvements introduced by the new data infrastructure and supports long-term platform stability.

The final word

Updates like this may seem small, but clarity in your reporting makes a real difference in how you interpret performance throughout the day.

As the Store Performance dashboard continues to evolve, our focus remains the same: deliver accurate, dependable data in a way that supports confident decision-making.

Improvements like this reflect our commitment to building a more reliable and scalable analytics foundation for every business on BigCommerce.

"Migrating to our new data pipeline is a meaningful step forward for platform performance and reliability.
