BigCommerce and Zoom2u Partner to Provide Expedited Delivery Options to Australian Retailers

**BigCommerce First Ecommerce Platform to Offer Native Integration for Same-Day Delivery Services in Australia **

SYDNEY — May 30, 2017 — BigCommerce has partnered with Australian on-demand delivery company Zoom2u to become the first ecommerce platform to provide same-day shipping services to Australian merchants natively. Through the partnership, businesses selling on BigCommerce will be able to offer a range of expedited shipping options at checkout, allowing shoppers to have orders delivered in as little as three hours.

The Zoom2u integration will also enable BigCommerce merchants to provide real-time courier shipping quotes at purchase, while maintaining a single view of order fulfillment in their store control panel.

The partnership comes as recent research found 85 percent of online shoppers expect to see multiple shipping options at checkout, and 43 percent of Australian shoppers are willing to pay more for same-day shipping.1  An additional study also showed 16 percent of online shopping carts are abandoned due to customer dissatisfaction with slow delivery times.2

“The partnership is good news for retailers who wish to improve their customer experience before the Amazon marketplace opens locally,” said Jimmy Duvall, chief product officer for BigCommerce. “Every day merchants lose out on millions of dollars in sales due to shipping-related abandoned carts. By providing greater control and flexibility over shipping and delivery options, our merchants will now be able to deliver unique experiences that encourage loyalty and repeat purchases.”

Steve Orenstein, CEO and cofounder, Zoom2u added, “On-demand and personalised delivery services have become a vital extension to successful online businesses. Traditional courier companies have not yet shifted their business models to cope with the substantial growth in B2C orders driven by ecommerce, and with Amazon’s pending arrival in Australia, merchants can take advantage of this partnership to offer more convenience to their customers.

“Delivery is the only face-to-face interaction a customer will experience when buying online, so a positive experience is vital for repeat business. Our technology offers more control to help customers know when their courier is arriving which improves customer loyalty, retention and satisfaction.”

With Zoom2u, merchants can offer three distinct expedited fulfillment options, including same-day delivery for eligible orders placed before noon local time, 3-hour delivery and “VIP” service, which routes orders to the next available courier in the specified market. The delivery service also includes customers being able to to interact directly with drivers, track the estimated arrival time, and use a tool to rate and review their driver.

Using BigCommerce Shipping Manager, merchants can easily configure and select to offer all expedited shipping services simultaneously or a subset thereof.

Zoom2u is available to eligible BigCommerce customers in Australia beginning today, and expedited delivery service is currently available in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth metro areas. To learn more about the integration, visit: https://www.bigcommerce.com.au/zoom2u/
